I am trying to complete the Getting Started With Starter training activities. One of the instructions is to “click on Browse Archive” in the Public Portal. I don’t see a “browse archive” option, but I do see a “browse collection” option, so I clicked on that. It keeps resulting in an error that says “404: This page could not be found.” Does anyone know what causes this? Also, am I doing the correct thing by clicking on “browse collection,” since I don’t seem to have a “browse archive” option?
Does anyone know why I am routinely getting kicked out as “session expired” after approx. an hour when I am in the middle of working. I have been renaming and captioning large image banks and it routinely happens when I am halfway through typing a sentence. It’s getting annoying!Is this because I am using a starter edition at the moment - I am intending to upgrade when I hit 5GB but don’t want to see this as an issue constantly when I want to work for more than an hour at a time.Thanks
Hi Everyone,I have a quantity of building plans that I have uploaded into Preservica as TIFFs. As you can imagine, they are pretty large files. I wanted to download one of them and when I went to download the True Original, I got a Notepad file filled with random characters. I need to know that I can get to these files whenever I need them so this is not ideal. Any advice for a confused archivist?Thanks!Ashley

I’m trying to delete an empty folder I no longer need in my collection, but I keep getting the error message “Deletion request failed.” When I click into Home > Parent Folder, the folder I attempted to delete is no longer there, but I can still see/click/access it on the side menu. Is there a step I’m missing here?
Our organization has recently adopted Google Drive for consistent storage. I can’t seem to upload Google Docs to Preservica. It would seem from browsing the community hub that Google Docs are not even documents! Does this mean I have to have a parallel storage of Microsoft Office to upload?

I’m capturing photos from a Flickr site. This site allows me to download all of the photos in an album, which is nice, and that creates a zip file. I am not techy, and I’m a solo archivist, so there’s no one else to ask here, but it seems to me that the lovely metadata bulk feature won’t work with a zip file. True or not? If not, what do I need to do to get it to work?
Hello! I signed up for a Starter account as a trial for my organization. We’re planning to upgrade to the Cloud Edition of Preservica, and I no longer need or want a Starter account.Does anyone know how to deactivate a Starter account? I have searched all over and cannot find this option. The Starter FAQ links to a form where you can ask to close your account, but it’s been over a week since I filled it out and I haven’t heard back.Thanks,Phil
I’m trying to upload a folder containing about 1500 (mostly) jpg files in various subfolders - total size approx 650mb - in the ‘upload a folder with metadata option’ but it fails.Unfortunately it doesn’t say why, just that I should try again. I tried again and it fails again.I tried a folder with only a few files in and it worked OKI have over 5GB left in my allowance.Is there a limit to the number of files that can be included in a bulk upload?
The way I’m “selling” Preservica Starter to my institutional stakeholders is to put a lot of cards up on the portal. I currently have 25 (yeah, I know, that’s a lot, but it’s currently a good strategy for me), but only 24 are displaying. I’m wondering if 24 if the limit because the latest card (the 25th) does not display.

Hi everyone-When I follow the steps to bulk add metadata in my portal, I am given a message that this task requires Starter Plus after selecting “Bulk Add Metadata Template.” My understanding was that Starter users would be able to utilize this tool. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks!Ashley
Hi everyone.It’s been a while since we ingested anything into our Starter, but we’re in the process of moving over to a premium plan and decided to start “cleaning up” all of our files. We tried to ingest a folder (we tried a zip file) as well as individual files and each time the ingest failed OR it indicated it was successful, but no images appear. We’ve never had this happen before and any help would be appreciated!Thanks in advance.Robin
