I am getting the following error message when I try to upload a folder with files including a Dublin Core template .csv file:

There was a problem with your ingest package

The CSV metadata file has been mapped successfully, but something went wrong whilst processing the package. Please try again

Please resubmit your package

Hi,

A couple of things to check;

  1. You need to upload into a top-level folder that already exists, not directly into the Home area
  2. There is currently a bug whereby if the folder has spaces in the folder title the upload will fail, so if you have any spaces, remove them and retry the upload. This will be fixed in a future version.

Let me know if either of these solve the problem, or not.

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks Paul! It must have been that bug with the spaces since it worked when I removed them!

Hi,

Having a similar problem with a much less-specific error message. I downloaded a fresh copy of the Dublin Core Template, copied metadata from my working copy, and get this error when I try to upload with template:

“There was a problem with your ingest package-- Browser Upload Failed, Please Try Again”

The bizarre thing with this is that I AM able to upload the folder, with all files and subfolder structure, if I try to do a “normal” upload. This suggests to me that the CSV is parsing wrong, but I cannot figure out why-- and previously when I’ve had problems the error gives me more specific info on the parser issue. I tried replacing spaces in folder names with underscores and uploading all files in the same directory, with the intent of moving them into folders once upload happened-- neither seems to have worked. Thoughts on what the problem could be?

ETA: I just tried it again with a subset of files and THOSE both imported and mapped properly. Now I’m wondering if the parser is being thrown off by special characters in the filename-- there are both . and # in some of them. Going to try to clean those up and try again.

Update to update: I have successfully performed some additional uploads with metadata, so I think my problem is with the particular files I’m trying to add in this batch. A lot of them are from the late-90s/early 2000s, so they both have special characters and have lots of cases of people trying to “reformat” documents by changing the file extension. The records not loading properly are not super-critical, so I think this can be downgraded from a support request to a “bug notification to look at if/when you have a chance”. Thanks!
