Preserve365 integrates directly with Microsoft 365 to allow your compliance and records teams to archive and preserve content (emails, SharePoint etc.).

To do this, Preserve365 uses a Microsoft 365 Enterprise Application. Installing this app and granting permissions ensures that Preserve365 can:

  • Respect and enforce your existing Microsoft 365 security and permissions.

  • Connect to SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams data through Microsoft Graph.

  • Allow background archiving to run automatically, without constant re-consent.

This is a one-time setup task that only a Microsoft 365 Administrator (with Global Admin rights) can perform. After you complete it, your compliance team will handle all configuration within Preserve365.

Prerequisites

To install and grant the necessary permissions for Preserve365, you’ll need to be a Microsoft 365 Administrator with Global Admin rights. This role is required because Preserve365’s Enterprise Application must be consented on behalf of the entire organisation.

Specifically, the Global Admin must be able to:

Install the Preserve365 Enterprise Application

  1. Sign in with a Global Administrator account.

  2. Open the following link:
    Install Preserve365 Enterprise Application

  3. Review the requested permissions and select Accept.

After installation, the Preserve365 Admin Console may open automatically. You can close this window. If a login error appears, it is expected and can be ignored.
