Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS) came from the Library of Congress' Network Development and MARC Standards Office as a method to record descriptions. It can be used for a variety of applications and has more elements than Dublin Core, more information can be found here https://www.loc.gov/standards/mods/

These are the elements that Starter Edition Supports and guidelines for their use, none are mandatory and you can use as many or as few as required:

Identifier: contains a unique standard number or code that distinctively identifies a resource.

Origin: information about the origin of the resource.

Record Creation Date: Date the record was created

Description Standard: Rules/conditions (protocols used for description)

Title: the title normally used when citing the resource.

Creator Name: the name of a person, organization, or event (conference, meeting, etc.) associated in some way with the resource.

Type of Resource: a term that specifies the characteristics and general type of content of the resource.

Date Created:  the date of creation of the resource.

Date Accumulated: the date of accumulation of the resource.

Language: the language in which the content of a resource is expressed.

Extent and Media: the measured units making up the part, such as pages, minutes, etc. and the media type

Physical Form: a designation of a particular physical presentation of a resource.

System of Arrangement: how the resource is arranged.

Conditions Governing Access: information about restrictions imposed on access to a resource.

Conditions Governing Reproduction: information about restrictions imposed on reproduction of a resource.

Scope and Content: a summary of the scope and content of the resource.

Other Finding Aids: information about finding aids for this resource.

Location of the Original: information concerning an original form of the resource.

Alternative Form Available: is an alternative form of the resource available.

Material Reference: information concerning related records.

Referencing Material:  information concerning related records.

Biography or History: administrative and biographical history.

Custodial History: archival history.

Acquisition Information: the immediate source of acquisition.

Appraisal Information: information on appraisal, destruction and scheduling.

Accrual Information: information on accrual status, quantity and history.

Bibliography: bibliographic notes.

Other Descriptive Data: descriptive notes.

Processing Information: archivists notes.
